Detail, is something that one of my favourite artists definitely understands.
Georges seurats's is a famous French painter known for his incredible use of detailing and the use of the 'pointillism' technique. His attention to detail has made him famous around the world and his most famous piece of art work 'Sunday afternoon on the island of la grande jatte' is his best known and most recognisable piece. With the 'pointillism' technique it is possible to create illusions and rely on the tricks of the eye to really bring the art to life.
Here is 'Sunday afternoon on the island of la grande jatte'
(Also seen in some famous films such as 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off')
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI hope it is full of many wonderful details to inspire and fill you with wonder, inspiration and joy x
Are you familiar with the work of Sondheim? He wrote a musical called "Sunday in the Park with George" which although i've never seen it, I believe it's about Seurat's life. Might be worth a look/listen if you like him :)
